Some Corvette Structural Parts Are Restricted

Certification affects more than the repair process itself.

Certain structural components for the Corvette C8 are restricted by General Motors. These parts can only be ordered by collision repair facilities that have the proper C8 specialty designation.

For example, I-CAR has documented Corvette C8 repair procedures where replacement structural components are restricted to GM Collision Repair Network C8 Specialty Shops.

This means a collision center without the proper designation may not be able to purchase some of the parts needed to complete a structural Corvette repair.

The newest addition to the C8 family combines the high output Corvette platform with electrified all wheel drive. Chevrolet lists the ZR1X at up to 1,250 combined horsepower with an available 0 to 60 mph time of 1.89 seconds.
